    Discover Your Path to Healing...

    Traditional Therapy

    Internal Family Systems Informed

Therapy can be incredibly helpful for mental health by providing a safe space to explore emotions, thoughts, and behaviors. One approach, Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy, focuses on understanding and working with different parts of a person’s inner self. These "parts" are like different voices or perspectives within us, each with its own feelings, needs, and desires. IFS teaches that there are no bad parts, but rather all parts are trying to protect or help the person in some way, even if their actions may seem unhelpful. By recognizing and understanding these parts, people can work towards healing internal conflicts, improving self-compassion, and finding balance. Therapy, including IFS, helps people develop healthier relationships with themselves, reduce inner turmoil, and build a more integrated sense of self.

    Medication management

    Psychotropic Medications

Psychotropic medications help with depression, anxiety, OCD, suicidal thoughts, and mood disorders by balancing brain chemicals that control mood and emotions. Mental health conditions can make daily life hard, and sometimes therapy alone isn’t enough. These medications can boost mood, reduce anxiety, calm obsessive thoughts, and stabilize extreme emotions. In severe cases, like suicidal thoughts, fast-acting treatments like ketamine or lithium can help quickly. While not everyone needs medication, it can be a crucial tool for those struggling with serious or long-term symptoms.

    Supplements

Supplements can help with mental health conditions by supporting brain function and balancing important nutrients that affect mood, energy, and stress levels. Some vitamins and minerals, like B vitamins, magnesium, and zinc, help the brain produce neurotransmitters like serotonin and dopamine, which are important for feeling happy and calm. Omega-3 fatty acids (found in fish oil) can reduce inflammation in the brain and improve mood, while vitamin D is linked to lower rates of depression. While supplements can be helpful, they work best when combined with a healthy diet, exercise, and medical treatment if needed. Always check with a doctor before taking supplements, especially if you're on medication.

    Transforming Lives with Ketamine treatment

    Ketamine for Depression/Suicidality

Ketamine has emerged as a promising treatment for depression and suicidality. Its antidepressant effects are notably rapid compared to traditional therapies, often providing relief within hours or days. Ketamine acts primarily on the glutamatergic system by blocking the NMDA receptor, leading to increased synaptic plasticity and the release of brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF). This mechanism helps restore neural connectivity in brain regions implicated in mood regulation, offering a novel approach for patients who have not responded to conventional antidepressants.

    Ketamine for Anxiety

For anxiety, ketamine can quickly calm overactive brain circuits that cause constant worry and panic.  Ketamine also helps reduce anxiety by targeting key brain areas like the prefrontal cortex, which improves emotional control, and the amygdala, which calms excessive fear responses. It also boosts the hippocampus, aiding in emotional resilience.

    Ketamine for OCD

Ketamine may disrupt rigid, compulsive thought patterns and reduce obsessive thinking by enhancing brain plasticity (the brain’s ability to change and adapt). This can make it easier for people with OCD to break free from repetitive behaviors and intrusive thoughts

    Ketamine for Trauma/PTSD

Ketamine helps with trauma and PTSD by working on brain areas involved in fear, memory, and emotional regulation. It targets the amygdala, which is overactive in PTSD and causes intense fear responses, helping to calm it down. It also strengthens the prefrontal cortex, improving emotional control and reducing intrusive thoughts. Ketamine increases glutamate, which enhances brain plasticity, allowing the brain to "rewire" itself and break free from traumatic memories.

Ketamine promotes neurogenesis (growth of new brain cells) in the hippocampus, which helps process memories more healthily. This allows individuals to view their negative experiences from a third-person perspective. This shift enables decreasing the associated stress and intensity, thereby facilitating healing.

Because ketamine works quickly, it can provide fast relief from PTSD symptoms, reducing flashbacks, hypervigilance, and emotional distress.

    Ketamine for Negative Thought Patterns

Ketamine's ability to assist in creating new pathways of thinking is linked to its action on the brain's glutamate system, which plays a crucial role in synaptic plasticity and neurogenesis. By blocking NMDA receptors, ketamine enhances the release of glutamate, which in turn stimulates the AMPA receptors, leading to a cascade of intracellular events that promote the growth and strengthening of synapses. This process encourages the formation of new neural connections, which can help patients break free from entrenched patterns of negative thinking associated with mental health conditions.

    Ketamine for Couples

A significant aspect of healthy relationships is communication. Ketamine assists with breaking down communication barriers to facilitate difficult discussions. This, in turn, may help you and your partner vocalize thoughts that have been internalized and allows the space needed for improving the relationship.
